Requirements, files, privacy, time, editing, and what the app is not for.
What do I need?
A Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 14 or later, and about 12 GB of disk for the models, downloaded once on first launch.
Which files can I drop in?
MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV and AVI: camera files, phone clips, stream recordings from OBS or similar, and Insta360 originals.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Analysis, transcription and rendering run on your Mac. The server sees your sign-in, your subscription state and, if you opt in, anonymous usage events.
How long does a cut take?
It depends on the Mac and the length of the footage. We are timing it stage by stage and will publish measured figures, not estimates.
Can I change the result?
Yes. The timeline and captions are editable in the app, and the cut exports as FCPXML or EDL with SRT for your own editor.
Does it work on someone else's video?
It is built for your own footage and your own channel's recordings, not for pulling clips from other people's links.
Does it work on footage with little talking?
It works best on footage where people talk. Much of what decides a cut is speech, reactions and sound, so a silent scenery walk or a pet video comes out weaker. Travel footage gets some help from the picture: arrivals and changes of view are read from the frame. Gaming, talk, food and beauty, where someone talks throughout, are what we fitted first.
